Video: 800-PS family hauler vs. Ferrari 812 Superfast

We are living in the wonderful day and age when an estate car can outrun a two-decade-old supercar. In a recent video by ABT, a comprehensively tuned Audi RS 6 Avant by ABT goes up against a Ferrari 812 Superfast – which isn’t nearly old, by the way.

In its ultimate version called Johann Abt Signature Edition, the family-friendly wagon gets a boost from its original 600 to 800 metric horsepower (from 593 to 789 hp; from 441 to 588 kW, respectively). The torque goes up from 800 to 980 Nm (from 590 to 723 lb-ft). Modded like this, the ride blasts off from zero to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 2.91 seconds and can reach 330 km/h (205 mph) in a straight line.

This is not to say Ferrari is pulling any punches. Its 6.5-liter naturally aspirated V12 pumps out 800 PS (789 hp / 588 kW) and 718 Nm (530 lb-ft) of torque straight off the assembly line. The launch time and top speed come very close to that of the wild Audi wagon, but the Prancing Horse wins the weight contest hands-down, being a whopping 625 kilos (1,378 pounds) lighter.

Watch the video for a standing race and a rolling race between these two unlikely rivals.
