Ben Collins, known also as the ex-Stig from Top Gear, has posted a video on YouTube that started as a drag race between a Formula 1 racecar, a Ferrari SF90 Stradale, and an extremely tuned Audi RS 6. Just when you think things can’t go any crazier, an aerobatic aircraft joins in on the fun.
The first part of the video compares the Italian hypercar equipped with four motors and 1,000 PS (986 hp / 735 kW) and the German station wagon boosted to 1,001 PS (987 hp / 736 kW) by Polish tuner MTM. Both run against an upgraded 2006 BMW Sauber racecar converted into a ‘racing taxi’ with an added passenger seat. The BMW only geta 610 PS (602 hp / 455 kW) out of its 3.0-liter V8, but more than compensates for it with its low 580 kilos (1,279 lbs) of curb weight.
In theory, the racer can go 0-200 km/h (0-124 mph) in 5.5 seconds, but the driver must have fumbled the start in the actual race, because the Ferrari easily pulls ahead. The RS 6 gets left behind, probably due to its sheer bulk. Collins, who chose to drive the SF90 Stradale the first time around, then switches to the BMW Sauber.
His adversary in the next race in Łukasz Czepiela, a pilot from the Red Bull Air Race World Championship team. He is flying a Zivko Edge 540T plane and tries his best to keep as close to the road as possible, only gaining height after the finish line. Do you think he has what it takes to outrace Collins?
