Tuned-up Audi RS7 Sportback goes faster than the Bugatti Veyron

German performance tuning shop HGP Turbonachrüstung GmbH launched an upgrade kit for the VW EA825 V8 TT engine model a while ago. Audi RS6 and Lamborghini Urus received it first, and now the new RS7 Sportback joins the list.

After all modifications, which include raising the boost pressure, the actual measured performance skyrockets to 962 hp (717 kW) and 1,250 Nm (922 lb-ft) of torque. HGP does not end the upgrade there and then, offering instead to minimize the curb weight of the car. When everything is done, the sedan needs 2.8 seconds to sprint 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) instead of the usual 3.6 seconds, and maxes out just below 367 km/h (228 mph).

This puts the Audi RS7 Sportback on par with such supercars as the Porsche 918 Spyder, Ferrari 488 Pista and McLaren 675 LT, and leaves the Bugatti Veyron well behind. Even the legendary Porsche 911 GT2 RS needs 8.5 seconds to get from 100 to 200 km/h (62–124 mph), while the tuned RS7 manages the same in 5.5 seconds.

The performance has its price, though: an HGP RS7 Stage 2 liftback would set you back approximately €200,000.
