Video: Ken Block cooks up donuts on his Audi RS E-Tron GT

Drifting a manual ICE car with handbrake is much simpler than an EV with electronic parking brake, but Ken Block took up the challenge with his shiny new Audi RS E-Tron GT.

In the video, the celebrity driver admits he was skeptical towards the electronic brake and its use for drifting, but got accustomed to it pretty soon. He proves it in the second half of the video, cooking donuts and making eights despite the electric car resisting him all the time attempting to break the slide.

Rotiform produced a custom set of wheels for this particular E-Tron GT, installing different rims on different axles. The tires, however, are Toyo Sport all around. Power comes from twin electric motors jointly rated at 598 PS (590 hp / 440 kW) and 830 Nm (612 lb-ft) of torque. A boost feature can be used to increase the output to 646 PS (637 hp / 475 kW) over a brief period.

Block cut his ties with Ford and signed a contract with Audi last year. The German automaker is currently building a one-off vehicle for him named the Audi S1 E-Tron Quattro Hoonitron, which will participate in the first episode of Block’s new show, Electrikhana.
