Video: JD Engineering takes its 712-HP Audi S8 out on a test drive

Netherlands-based tuner JD Engineering has rendered this D4 Audi S8 (production years 2012 – 2017) stronger than the latest D5 model. Care for a demo?

The full list of changes isn’t here, but it goes without saying that what you see here does not boil down to an ECU remap. In its stock guise, the D4 S8 packs a 4.0-liter, twin-turbo V8 capable of 520 hp (388 kW) and 650 Nm (478 lb-ft) of torque. Once tuned by JD, it starts churning out 712 hp (531 kW) along with 931 Nm (687 lb-ft) of torque.

The upgrade drastically improves the acceleration performance of the sports sedan, allowing it to hit 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.6 seconds instead of the usual 4.2 s and max out at 295 km/h (183 mph), rather than 250 km/h (155 mph).
