More of the Same: ABT unveils its take on the Audi S8

ABT Sportsline had already tackled the Audi Ea825 V8 TT engine when it worked on the RS6-R and RS7-R models, lifting its output from 600 hp (447 kW) to 740 hp (552 kW) and its torque from 800 to 920 Nm (590 -> 678 lb-ft). Now, a similar upgrade comes out for the S8 flagship saloon.

The ABT Engine Control costs €10,990 to buy and €181 to install, and has somewhat less of an effect on the S8 than the RS-R series. Once plugged in and tuned, it should help the engine yield up to 700 hp (522 kW) and 880 Nm (650 lb-ft) of torque. This is enough to shave 0.4 seconds off the 3.4 s launch time, ABT reports.

You can also opt for a speed limit bump from the stock 250 km/h (155 mph) to 270 km/h (168 mph). This option will set you back €690, but won’t be shipped unless you provide proof that your car has the high-end carbon-ceramic brakes.

As far as wheels are concerned, customers are invited to choose between two sets: ABT GR (20”) and FR (20” and 21”). Prices start from €5,850. A carbon-fiber rear wing will bump the total by another €1,290, plus €129 for the installation (Germany only).

Interior features are narrowly limited this time around. You can get an engine start button for €42 and a carbon gear stick for €390, but that’s about all.
