As evidenced by these images, Audi has begun testing its Maybach S-Class rival on public roads. Rumor has it the A8 ‘Horch’ will be the marque’s last production vehicle to ship with a W12 engine.
The sedan boasts a stretched wheelbase, which technically makes it a limousine and ensures that all passengers have enough legroom at their disposal. The rear doors also become longer compared to those of the production A8, the radiator grille gets a design overhaul, and the wheels and badges are new. Other than that, though, the flagship is barely distinguishable from the regular A8 shown in the attached video.
Reports are coming in that Audi would not ship the Horch with six-cylinder engines or diesels, but would instead offer it with a 4.0-liter V8 and a 6.0-liter W12 to choose between.
The launch is expected in late 2021.
