The main Audi Q5 model received a mid-generational refresh a mere week ago (see video). The company hasn’t revealed its beefed-up SQ5 counterpart so far, but today, the SUV hit the test track without any disguise on.
The SQ5 looks just like the new Q5 as far as the body kit and wheels, although the silvery kit parts are new, and so is the exhaust system with four round tailpipes.
The engine range will likely stay unchanged. This means the crossover will probably hit the market in the United States, Asia and Russia with the old 3.0-liter V6 turbo under the hood, rated at 354 hp (264 kW) and 500 Nm (369 lb-ft) of torque. In Europe, a mild-hybrid diesel powertrain rated at 347 hp (259 kW) and 700 Nm (516 lb-ft) should also be available.
The pricing and availability of the new Audi SQ5 remain pending, as does the premiere date.
