Audi has officially unveiled the refreshed SQ5 family in mid-summer 2020. The cars debuted with new radiator grilles, as well as slightly retouched bumpers and lights. A 10.1-inch multimedia system made its way inside, and – as it now turns out – the engine got its share of improvements as well.
The V6 3.0 TDI unit had its aluminum pistons swapped out for stainless-steel ones, turbocharger replaced with a compact-sized one, and exhaust line shortened. A second injector was placed inside the exhaust for AdBlue injection.
After all the mods, the engine went down 6 hp to just 341 PS (336 hp / 251 kW). On the upside, the peak torque of 700 Nm (516 lb-ft) now becomes available starting from 1,750 RPM, as opposed to 2,500 RPM. The standard sprint time remains unchanged at 5.1 seconds to 100 km/h (62 mph).
