The 2019 Wörtherseetreffen motor show will be held in the town of Reifnitz, Austria, on May 29 – June 1. Audi will attend it with a most unusual automotive specimen: an Audi TT sports car converted into an full-fledged off-roader.
As you can see on the photos, the vehicle sports a drastically remade exterior, some of the highlights being the RS-like front bumper, a front spoiler lip, and extra headlights integrated with the radiator grille. The fenders are noticeably wider, and the rear fascia reminds us strongly of the 2014 TT Offroad Concept. The rear window in absent, replaced with two complete spare wheels.
The car, which is black with sporty yellow accents, rides on a set of black off-road rims wrapped in meaty all-terrain rubber. Needless to mention, there is also a suspension lift.
The unique prototype comes powered by the same VW EA855 evo five-cylinder engine the Audi TT RS ships with. Rated at 400 hp (298 kW) and 480 Nm (354 lb×ft) of torque, it must be able to take the sports car-turned-SUV from nothing to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.5 seconds at most. Then again, we have no official data here.
Chances that the car makes it into actual production are near zero, regrettably.
