2019 Audi TT gets an anniversary facelift

The first Audi TT came out in 1998. To celebrate the 20th birthday of the series, the company has carried out a mid-generational refresh of both the coupe and the roadster.

The updated Audi TT comes equipped with a new radiator grille, reworked bumpers, and massive air intakes. The TTS version gets expanded vertical air intakes with either glossy black or silvery lining, which look similar to those of the top-spec Audi TT RS.

The TTS line has lost a bit of raw power and is now being rated at 306 hp / 228 kW. That notwithstanding, its acceleration performance has actually improved: the coupe variant accelerates to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.5 seconds, while the roadster accomplished the same in 4.8s. This is 0.4s faster than the current generation can do.

Among other things, the 2019 Audi TT comes with new wheels, more color choices and an extended list of base equipment. The multi-function steering wheel and drive mode selection are now available in base.

Apart from the main series, Audi has announced the forthcoming release of a special edition Audi TT. The vehicle will inherit design traits of a concept vehicle from 1995, including the same grey lacquering, organic LED lighting and exclusive designer wheels.

You will be able to pre-order the refreshed Audi TT starting early this fall. The coupe variant will cost €35,000 and above, the roadster €37,500+ and the TTS €54,500+. No prices are available for the special edition at the moment.
