Aurus Senat to get an upgraded fuel-cell version in time for the UAE Summit

Automaker Aurus is currently developing a better version of its Senat sedan prototype running on hydrogen power. The car is slated for a debut at the World Future Energy Summit at the end of 2023.

The company calls the new version “a matured design” using new, improved fuel cells. The power output has not been specified, but it seems likely that the performance and the range will both be improved.

The original Aurus Senat Hydrogen debuted last summer with a large 100-kWh traction battery on board and only electric motors. According to the manufacturer, it could sprint 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in four seconds flat and cover 600 km (373 miles) on a charge.

In addition to this prototype, Aurus is also working on turning its ICE Senat into a serial hybrid (range-extender hybrid). Cars with this powertrain type run on electric power produced by an ICE engine.
