The new Avatr 011 MMW is now available to pre-order in China with an advance payment of 10,000 Yuan. The full price remains undisclosed, but the company says only 500 units will be made.
Avatr is a new automaker co-founded between such industrial giants as Changan, Huawei and CATL. The 011 is its first production car, a luxury crossover SUV running on electric power. The MMW Special Edition unveiled this week was co-designed with Matthew Williams, Creative Manager of Givenchy and co-founder of the 1017 ALYX 9SM fashion brand.
The car itself comes finished and trimmed in black with even the logos and the chrome elements completely blacked out. Other than that, it is no different from the standard Avatr 011.
At 4,880 mm long, 1,970 mm wide and 1,601 mm tall with 2,975 mm between the axles, the SUV is larger than the Tesla Model Y, but smaller than the Model X. Its exterior finish is auto-healing, which means any minor scratches and damages close automatically after a while. The wheels measure 22 inches in diameter.
The interior trim uses generous amounts of fine leather on four sport seats with integrated headrests. A 15.6-inch infotainment display in the middle is accompanied by another two 10.2-inch screens for the driver and the front passenger to use.
Dual electric motors drive the wheels with 570 PS (562 hp / 420 kW) combined and enable a sprint from zero to 100 km/h (62 mph) in under three seconds. A 90.4-kWh battery gives the SUV up to 600 km (373 miles) of range, but the manufacturer is working on a new modification capable of covering 700 km (435 miles) on a charge.
