Avatr 11 now available in 2WD flavor

The all-electric Avatr 11 SUV launched into production last year by a combined effort of automaker Changan, IT giant Huawei and battery manufacturer CATL, is now available in a new, more affordable configuration.

CarNewsChina writes that the Avatr 11, which had originally been a dual-motor EV with all-wheel drive, can now be ordered in two 2WD flavors priced between 319,900 and 349,900 Yuan.

The single-motor spec comes based on the same EP1 platform and 750V power architecture. It makes 313 PS (309 hp / 230 kW) and 370 Nm (273 lb-ft) of torque, sprinting from zero to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 6.6 seconds.

For the battery pack, buyers can choose from 90 and 116 kWh options, the former rated for 600 km and the latter for 705 km of range (373 and 438 miles, respectively). The old dual-motor/AWD spec remains on sale and is significantly faster with a sprint time of 3.98 seconds. With the largest battery installed, it has 680 km (422.5 miles) of CLTC-rated range.

Unlike the top trim level, the two new trim levels come without power tailgate. The rest is all there, though, including a slew of driving assists based on 34 sensors, a trio of impressively large displays, and a premium audio system with 14 speakers and a 12-channel amp.
