Electric car manufacturer Avatr Technology has joined the ongoing price wars in China by producing a heavily discounted version of its model number 11. According to CnEVPost, it will remain available until the end of the month for just 250,000 Yuan ($34,800), as opposed to the normal list price of 300,000 Yuan ($41,800).
The official website still doesn’t have this version listed in the configurator and doesn’t specify what differentiates it from the standard spec. In its normal guise, the Avatr 11 is a rear-wheel-drive electric SUV that packs 313 PS (309 hp / 230 kW), 90 kWh of battery juice and a five-seat cabin. It sprints 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 6.6 seconds and covers up to 630 km (391 miles) on a charge per the CLTC standard.
Customers in China can order their Avatr 11 in five trim versions. The range-topping one costs 390,000 Yuan ($54,300) and comes with dual motors, 578 PS (750 hp / 425 kW) sent to all four wheels, a larger 116-kWh battery pack and individual seats in the middle row. It needs 4.5 seconds for the sprint and covers 700 km (435 miles) on a full battery.
CnEVPost points out that Avatr only found 2,457 buyers for its electric vehicles in February: the 11 SUV sold 1,057 units and the 12 liftback sold 1,400. The month-on-month drop from January with its 7,059 units thus amounted to 65.19%.
