Avatr rolls out its second production car

Car brand Avatr has presented its second mass-market model: called simply the 12, it is being advertised as a ‘five-seat Grand Coupe.’

The model is 5,020 mm (196.1 in) long with 3,020 mm (112 in) between the axles. It has a solid panel where the grille is supposed to be, but has what looks like active louvers in the front bumper. The lighting unit are also unusual – the DRLs are C-shaped, in particular – and an extra display called Hallo Screen sits between the hood and the windshield to display various messages to those approaching the car.

The rear window isn’t there, but the car has a video camera wired to the rearview mirror. The panoramic sunroof is impressively large at 2.57 square meters (27.66 square feet).

Since there are no traditional gauges, the driver looks at a large infotainment touchscreen instead, which is used to access most other in-car functions as well. Another ultrawide display sized 35.4 inches corner to corner is squeezed between the front panel and the windshield.

The trim spec mentions a 27-channel audio system, ambient lighting with 64 color options, and a climate control system with an aroma dispenser and three unique fragrances designed specifically for the car.

Buyers can either get a single-motor version with 313 PS (309 hp / 230 kW) or go for an AWD dual-motor variant with 578 PS (570 hp / 425 kW). Both use the same 94.5-kWh battery and offer 650–700 km (404–435 miles) of range.
