Robert Downey Jr., best known worldwide for his role of Tony Stark in The Avengers franchise, has announced his very own car show called Downey’s Dream Cars. According to the first trailer, the actor will convert classics into zero-emission EVs.
Downey Jr. is widely known as a fan and collector of cars, but he is also an environmental activist. According to him, he had spent the past three years studying his collection of automotive classics, inviting experts to examine the individual vehicles and decide how to best electrify them while preserving their unique character.
It looks like the show will be divided into episodes each of which will be dedicated to a classic ICE car being converted into an EV. Although most such conversions are battery-electric, the engineering team behind the project will not limit itself to such projects: hybrids and biofuels are also mentioned as viable alternatives.
The first two episodes will air on June 22, 2023. The show will then continue to come out on Thursdays for as long as there are still cars left to electrify in the garage.
