The sports car market of today is quite crowded, but add removable roof to your list of requirements and it shrinks to a small fraction. The BAC Mono belongs to the select few vehicles that combine sportiness with the absence of a fixed top.
The model received an update back in 2020 that allegedly made it faster and more powerful than ever. Even so, the old version is by no means slow, either. In the latest video by AutoTopNL, a driver hits the autobahn in a 2018 BAC Mono to see if he can reach the OEM-rated top acceleration from his second attempt so far.
Powering the car is a 2.5-liter engine rated at 309 PS (305 hp / 227 kW) and 308 Nm (227 lb-ft) of torque, conveyed to the rear axle through a six-speed sequential transmission.
During the last attempt, the driver was able to hit 233 km/h (145 mph), just a little below the official speed cap of 235 km/h (146 mph). He called it a failure and demanded a rematch. Will the second time be the charm? Watch and find out!
