Meet BAIC Radiance, a tech-heavy design study with production prospects

China-based BAIC Group will be attending the Auto China 2020 show in Beijing with its fully electric concept car named Radiance. The developer team claims the vehicle features a Level 4 self-drive system and will positively go into production when it is ready.

With its full name being “Beijing Radiance”, the vehicle looks like a crossbreed between the Lucid Air (USA) and the Lightyear One (Netherlands). It sports a short hood, a spacious interior, and adjustable 3D headlights.

The manufacturer says nothing about the powertrain so far, but it most likely includes multiple electric motors and a high-end traction battery, as evidenced by the 800 km (497 miles) of claimed range. Another major highlight comes in the form of an SAE Level 4 autonomous driving system.

In spring this year, BAIC Group unveiled its first car based on the new BMFA architecture co-developed with Daimler AG. The production vehicle will be called “Beijing X7”, and you can have a look at it in the video here.
