The Beijing BJ40, which looks like an unofficial Chinese adaptation of the Jeep Wrangler, has gained an upmarket version called the Ring Tower Champion Edition.
You may refer to our gallery to compare the two: the standard BJ40 is shown in the video and the special edition is depicted on the photos. As you can see, it is matte grey with a black leather cabin and redesigned badges.
The two-liter four-cylinder stays the same, but now links to an eight-speed automatic transmission. The normal BJ40 produces 204 PS (201 hp / 150 kW) and 280 Nm (207 lb-ft) of torque. With its three differential locks and 37°/31° approach/departure angles, it feels rather confident off-road.
Pre-ordering in China will become available soon. Prices remain to be announced, but we expect the special edition to cost more than the $21,000–$29,000 of the standard spec.
