The automotive conglomerate General Motors together with SAIC has made an official presentation of its new crossover, the Baojun 530. The car was showcased during the International Car Show in Guangzhou, China and was positioned as a “car for young people”. It should become available for sale before the end of the year.
The exterior of the new model has the characteristic style of the Baojun brand, which caters especially for the needs of the Chinese domestic market.
The fact that the presentation failed to show the interior design of the vehicle raised many brows, however. Whatever the reason, the interior of Baojun 530 remains a mystery so far. Experts believe, however, that it is going to be an example of state-of-the-art craftsmanship, with textile and leather throughout. Buyers can expect even the most basic version of the car to come with an in-built modern media entertainment system, climate control and an advanced steering wheel.
Speaking of the technical aspect, it is worth mentioning that Baojun 530 comes with a reworked suspension which will undoubtedly influence steering. The clients may also choose between a 1.8L atmospheric engine and a 1.5L turbo engine. They are rated at 137 HP and 150 HP, respectively.
