The all-electric Baojun E300 supermini never sold as well as the Chinese car manufacturer had hoped it would, but rather than retiring it, Baojun will be rebooting the model under the name ‘KiWi EV’.
The KiWi is a four-seater with no other options, coming with redesigned 13-inch wheels and six exterior paint schemes. Other than that, it looks identical to its failed predecessor.
Interior upholstery consists of 20% rice plant fiber by default, and customers can choose from as many as 12 biodegradable materials for the trim (one material per car).
While not announced yet, multiple reports claim that the powertrain stays unchanged from the E300, which means 54 PS (53 hp / 40 kW) and 150 Nm (110 lb-ft) hitting the wheels. A 32-kWh traction battery grants up to 305 kilometers (189.5 miles) of NEDC-rated range, and you will not be able to go faster than 100 km/h (62 mph).
