A fully functional reproduction of the Batmobile Tumbler first featured in the 2005 movie ‘Batman Begins’ by Christopher Nolan is up for grabs in Kazakhstan right now with an asking price of $399,000 USD, no mileage or manufacturer details.
The one-off replica from the DC comic universe rides on two axles, but six wheels: while the front axle makes do with the more conventional Mickey Thompson tires, the rear one uses a quartet of fat all-terrain bigfoots. All bodywork, the frame and the suspension appear to be custom and fabricated by hand, which is no small feat. The exterior wears a fitting shade of matte black.
Found inside the cabin are a simple dashboard and a trio of displays, two of which substitute for the missing side mirrors while the third one enables accident-free reversing. The driver has access to some custom controls and extra gauges, and there is even a tire pressure control system on board.
Power for the build comes from a non-turbo Toyota V8 engine driving all six wheels through an automatic transmission. Performance and acceleration remain undiscussed.
