Beijing BJ60 goes into production, starts around 240k CNY

Chinese automaker Beijing has launched production of its BJ60 model announced this summer. Per CarNewsChina, you can already order one starting from 239,800 Yuan (~33,700 USD).

The car is 5,040 mm long, 1,955 mm wide and 1,925 m tall with 2,820 mm between the axles (inches: 196.9 x 76.4 x 75.2 x 110.2). It can be configured with five or seven seats and offers a trunk expandable to 1,836 liters (65 cubic feet).

There will be multiple powertrain options to choose from, but only one will be available at the start. It is a mild-hybrid setup with a 2.0-liter turbo engine and a 48V starter-generator sending 266 PS (262 hp / 196 kW) and 406 Nm (300 lb-ft) of torque to all four wheels through an eight-speed DCT and a reduction gear. There are as many as nine drive modes to switch between, and the sprint from zero to 100 km/h (62 mph) succeeds in six seconds flat, the company claims.

Depending on your chosen trim level, the BJ60 comes with a leather trim, a digital rearview mirror, a 12-speaker audio system with an amplifier, and a panoramic sunroof. The multimedia system incorporates a 10.25-inch display and a larger 12.8-inch screen. It also has a voice assistant. A smaller touch interface is used to launch the engine, as well as display current time and air temperature. Ventilated seats and an extra 35-liter gas tank are listed under options.
