The Beijing BJ40, nicknamed the Chinese Wrangler for its uncanny semblance with the iconic Jeep off-roader, is now available in a couple of new, purely cosmetic new versions.
The lineup kicks off with Meta 40, a white-out series of cars rocking prominent new bumpers, shock absorbers with external reservoirs, and 20-inch wheels. A total of 4,999 units will be available to purchase starting from 280,000 Yuan.
Should you run on a budget, consider the City Hunter version priced between 159,800 and 189,800 Yuan. This one gets a light blue exterior with white and light blue cabin accents. The bumpers lean towards off-road aesthetic, and the wheels are smaller.
Finally, buyers may choose from 12 original body graphics representing various national ornaments. At least, this is what it looks like at a glance; the manufacturer makes no mention on whether these will be available or not.
The Beijing BJ40 already has a special version called the Ring Tower Champion Edition, which combines a matte body with a black interior (see video). A 2.0-liter turbo engine feeds 204 PS (201 hp / 150 kW) to an eight-speed automatic transmission and three diff locks.
