Let’s Wait For New Battery Tech: Bentley talks its first all-electric car

Luxury vehicle manufacturer Bentley said in an interview that the company was waiting for a better, higher-capacity battery tech to use for its future all-electric models. The currently existing tech, Bentley CEO Adrian Hallmark emphasized, is simply not good enough to use on premium-class vehicles. He believes there might be a scientific breakthrough in that field in around five or seven years.

He also put to rest the rumors claiming that the first all-electric Bentley car was going to be a sports vehicle. He hinted that it might actually be a modern reinterpretation of the Bentley Grand Tourer. At any rate, the car is going to have plenty of electric “juice”.

Bentley participated in the 2017 Geneva International Motor Show with the EXP 12 Speed 6e, an all-electric concept car rated for 500 kilometers’ (310 mi) worth of driving range.
