Bentley opens up a mini-apiary, expects 30 kg of honey in the 1st season

Luxury carmaker Bentley continues self-advertising via the environment preservation agenda. In a recent news, it announced building a large, photoelectric-powered indoor parking lot in Great Britain. Today, it showed us its miniature bee yard.

With the assistance from local beekeepers of Crewe, Bentley has set up two beehives for a total of 120,000 honeybees. The company said it should be able to extract around 30 kilograms, or 100 jars of honey out of the farm by the end of the summer.

According to Peter Bosch, Member of the Board for Manufacturing, this is by far not the last time the company engages in ‘green’ activities. In fact, Bentley is in a constant search for new ways of environmental improvement.

Some other car manufacturers also have their own side businesses like this one. For instance, Volkswagen AG has been producing pork sausages for nearly 50 years now.
