The British luxury carmaker is already conceptualizing the exterior of its first fully electric car, which it plans to launch in 2025 or thereabouts. The EV will be loosely based on the EXPT 100 GT Concept from a year before, which is shown here.
Right now, the company’s design department is looking for ways to lend the newcomer a bold and ambitious new appearance, Director of Design Stefan Sielaff claims. He emphasizes that the exterior styling of the still-unnamed EV has to be a major step ahead from the current design philosophy while staying true to the core values of the brand. He says that the Porsche Taycan is a good example – while battery-powered, it still retains all the telltale Porsche features.
In an earlier interview, Bentley CEO Adrian Hallmark admitted that, while the company was dedicated to building its first environment-friendly vehicle, the technologies it considered essential for that task would not emerge on the mass market until at least 2025.
