A new convertible is now being showcased at a Bentley dealership in Dubai, UAE. The car is the first mass-produced specimen of a concept unveiled as early as 2014.
The novelty is based on the updated Mulsanne Speed platform whose wheelbase had been shortened by 100 millimeters. The interior of the convertible mimics the prototype pretty much completely. The sunshine roof lies hidden under a one-piece wood cover – an unchallenged achievement of sorts, since no other car on the market has a whole wooden part as big as that.
The Bentley Grand Convertible is driven by the good old 6.75L V8 bi-turbo engine rated at 537 horsepower. The luxury car release date is set to coincide with the 100th Anniversary of Bentley Motors celebrated next year. The company plans to produce a limited series of only 19 cars priced at USD 3.5M.
