Car Zero opens up Blower Continuation series

Following the announcement of a Bentley Blower Continuation series last year, Mulliner has completed the first painstakingly crafted replica of the pre-WWII car. The prototype by the name of Car Zero was built as a test sample and will therefore not go on sale.

Mulliner used a surviving classic car to produce the replica. The team stripped the vintage ride down to the last bolt and scanned every part in high-resolution 3D, thus recreating 1,846 total components.

Another auto shop, NDR, built a historically accurate engine based on the surviving documentation. The four-cylinder unit has 4.4 liters of displacement and comes with an authentic Amherst Villiers supercharger. It is said to produce 243 PS (240 hp / 180 kW).

The interior trim predominantly consists of artificial leather, and there are 10 kilograms (22 pounds) of horsehair stuffed into the seats.

Next up, the engineering crew will put the Blower Car Zero through a challenging route spanning 8,000 kilometers (5,000 miles) to ensure its proper performance. The company will then publish its detailed tech specs.
