Video: Bentley Blower replica goes on a Christmas tree trip

It’s Christmas time already, and Bentley has posted another video in the ‘Christmas tree delivery’ genre so popular among automakers. The goal, of course, was to showcase the new Bentley Blower Jnr., a scale replica of a 1920s-era classic co-designed with Little Car Company for the mass market.

The replica is 85% as big as the original Blower model dating back to the year 1929. The historical car came equipped with a 4.5-liter engine, but the Junior model takes on a more environmentally responsible stance by using a 20-PS (20-hp / 15-kW) electric motor on the rear axle. It sports a carbon-fiber and aluminum body assembled by hand and delivers roughly 100 km (62 miles) of range on a charge.

In the UK, where the Blower Jnr. is actually street-legal as a quadricycle, it can accelerate to a maximum speed of 72 km/h (44.7 mph). In the United States, the local laws will restrict it to a low 40 km/h (25 mph).

Bentley already has multiple prototypes running around in various corners of the Earth, each scheduled to cover around 8,000 km (5,000 miles) of ground before the production can start. The exterior styling will be carried out in the same vein as that of the historical Bentley Blower Team Car No2, one of the world’s most instantly recognizable Bentleys of all times.
