Bentley and Mulliner have unwrapped the much-awaited Bacalar roadster, their most exclusive (12 units total) and most expensive (€1,500,000) vehicle to date. The whole batch has already been pre-sold to the interested collectors.
Mulliner has succeeded in keeping the novelty in line with the design philosophy of its EXP 100 GT Concept. Similarities include the headlights, the 22-inch wheels, and the brake light patterns.
From the technical point of view, the Bacalar is mostly identical to the Continental GT with AWD. The interior is also typical Continental: there is the same digital dash panel, gear selector, center tunnel, and triangular front panel.
Individual touches include a new steering wheel, reshaped air blowers, new door cards and seats, and a redesigned infotainment interface. Inserts from 5,000-year old wood extracted from peat bogs create a unique feeling of luxury.
A six-liter W12 oppucies the engine bay of the Bentley Mulliner Bacalar, producing 659 PS (650 hp, or 485 kW) and 900 Nm (664 lb-ft) of torque. This is only marginally above the performance of the regular Continental GT. The transmission is eight-speed automatic with pre-selection.
