Video: AMG G 63, Bentayga & Cayenne playing tug of war

Both the Bentley Bentayga Speed and the Porsche Cayenne Turbo are faster than the Mercedes-AMG G 63 when put on good tarmac, but how do they perform in a tug of war contest? Carwow decided to find out.

On the video here, the AMG G 63 first takes on the Cayenne Turbo and then challenges the Bentley Bentayga Speed, world’s fastest-going SUV.

The G 63 comes powered by a four-liter V8 engine rated at 585 hp (436 kW) and 850 Nm (627 lb-ft) of torque. It weighs 2,560 kilograms (5,644 pounds).

The Cayenne Turbo has the same displacement volume but ‘only’ generates 550 hp (410 kW) and 770 Nm (568 lb-ft) of torque. Then again, it also weighs 300 kg (660 lbs) less than its German rival.

The Bentayga Speed packs a six-liter W12 mill good for 635 hp (474 kW) and 900 Nm (664 lb-ft), and weighs in at 2,490 kilos (5,490 lbs).

Just as you would expect, the G-Wagon, with its three diff locks and body-on-frame construction, easily beats the Cayenne at the game. The Bentayga turns out quite a formidable opponent, though.
