Bentley puts its first EV on the roadmap for 2025

Bentley CEO Adrian Hallmark has shared his vision on the company’s vehicle electrification strategy. According to him, the first Bentley-branded EV will emerge in 2025 and will not be based on any other cars of the marque.

He emphasized that the car would be based on the same PPE platform as the Porsche Taycan and the Audi e-tron GT, but will sport a number of visual and technical differences. Among other things, the company intends to equip it with a solid-state traction battery, thus reducing its overall weight by a whopping 30%.

The EV will have smaller dimensions than Bentley’s other cars currently on the lineup, but the company will make sure to interior stays roomy enough for most people.

The English carmaker only has partially electric cars on offer right now, such as the Bentayga Hybrid depicted here. The latter is already available for purchase in Europe, and should soon be joined by the Continental GT and the Flying Spur.
