Bentley’s first EV to run on VW Artemis power

Following the electrification of the Bentley Bentayga, the British luxury carmaker will be switching the rest of its lineup, including the Flying Spur and the Continental GT, to battery power. After that, it will produce its first pure EV.

According to CAR Magazine, the company wants to utilize Volkswagen Group’s Artemis architecture to produce a battery SUV. This contradicts the earlier rumors that Bentley’s first electric car would be a high-riding sedan.

At any rate, we probably won’t learn much more until the premiere, which is not going to happen until 2025 or later. The manufacturer hopes that the traction batteries will be lightweight enough by that time to justify the switch.
