The Bentley Continental GTC droptop is getting ready for a dose of electrification. The latest bunch of spy shots shows an uncamouflaged test vehicle, allowing a closed look at the car.
It seems like the current-gen GTC is identical to the test car in everything except the charging port on the rear fender. The test can also flaunts wide oval tailpipes of the W12-powered GTC Speed, or similar ones.
It is still a mystery what kind of hybrid powertrain the Continental GT and GTC are set to receive. The recently introduced Bentley Bentayga S and Azure specs both utilize a PHEV system composed of a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6, an electric motor and an 18-kWh battery. The output amounts to 462 PS (456 hp / 340 kW). The Flying Spur Hybrid packs a 2.9-liter V6 and gets a superior 544 PS (536 hp / 400 kW) along with 750 Nm (553 lb-ft) of torque.
Back in 2021, Bentley CTO Matthias Rabe let it slip that the company was contemplating the viability of a Continental GT PHEV after receiving a large number of customer requests. He refused to provide any ETAs.
