Bentley has unveiled a special version of its Bentayga SUV that will participate in the famous Race to the Clouds to the summit of Pikes Peak in Colorado, USA starting on June 24, 2018. The vehicle will be piloted by Rhys Millen, twice champion of the hill-climbing event.
His Bentley Bentayga had to sustain some minor modifications in order to be admitted to the race. Among other things, it got a roll cage for additional safety, special sport seats and safety belts, and a new exhaust system. The car retained its stock 6.0-liter W12 engine equipped with two turbochargers and capable of 608 hp (453 kW) and 900 Nm (664 lb·ft) of torque.
The fastest-ever Pikes Peak climb was performed by Sebastian Leb driving a Peugeot 208 T16. The pilot concluded the climb in 8 minutes 13.878 seconds.
