In a recent interview to a major automotive newspaper, Bentley’s chief designer Stefan Sielaff has – most likely accidentally – revealed what the upcoming performance variant of the Bentley Bentayga SUV will look like.
According to him, the “hottest” modification of the crossover vehicle will differ from the stock version like night and day. With a completely unique aerodynamic body kit and other distinguishing exterior features, there will be no mistaking it for any other Bentayga.
Even though the company announced the top-spec SUV in the spring of 2016, we still have little information about it. The only thing announced so far is that it gets a 6.0-liter, 12-cylinder, twin-turbo engine rated well above 600 hp (450 kW) and 900 Nm (664 lb·ft) of torque. Driven by a monster motor like this, the high-end Bentley Bentayga will accelerate 0-100 km/h (0-60 mph) in less than four seconds.
The premiere of the power-packed, luxury-laden SUV has so far been penciled in for 2019. When it hits the market, the company will proceed to release the next generations of its Flying Spur and Continental GTC models.
