A new coupe/crossover combo named Bentley Bentayga Sport will be added to the lineup in 2019. Apart from the characteristic slanting roof, it is going to get a unique exterior design that will later be adopted by the rest of the Bentayga family.
Talks about a possible sporty Bentayga offshoot began two years ago. Bentley CEO Wolfgang Dürheimer said back then that the SUV was going to get a performance variant named Speed. The latter was going to come equipped with the same W12 engine optimized for better power output.
The authorized dealerships are currently offering the Bentley Bentayga with a 6.0L W12 engine rated at 608 hp / 453 kW. Other variants include a 4.0L V8 turbo with 550 hp / 410 kW, a diesel engine with the same volume and cylinder count capable of 435 hp / 324 kW, and a 460+ hp / 343+ kW strong hybrid unit taken from the Porsche Panamera E-Hybrid. The top-spec vehicle goes 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 4.1 seconds and ultimately accelerates beyond 300 km/h (187 mph).
