Bentley has made its 2019 Geneva Motor Show debut with a special edition of its Continental GT model, titled “Number 9” and designed by Mulliner. The company plans to release 100 such cars, each packing a 6.0-liter V12 rated at 635 hp (474 kW) and 900 Nm (664 lbft) of torque.
The Bentley Continental GT Number 9 is a tribute to the legendary racing driver Henry Ralph Stanley “Tim” Birkin and his 175-horsepower (130-kW) Bentley Blower No. 9 racecar he took to the 1930 24 Hours of Le Mans.
By default, the modern reinterpretation of the prototype racecar ships with the same green livery as its spiritual ancestor. That said, buyers will be able to specify a custom color instead.
The limited series boasts a number 9 on the radiator grille, assorted carbon garnishes throughout the body and larger (21-inch) wheels.
The interior trim mostly involves leather and brushed aluminum. Each copy ships with a piece of a wooden seat of the original Bentley Blower No. 9 built into the central dashboard of the Continental GT.
Rounding off the list of unique features are door sills that read “1 of 100” and air blowers gilded with 18-carate gold.
