Bentley has released new and interesting details concerning the upcoming Continental GT Convertible Number 1 Edition, which is currently under development by Mulliner. The production quantity will be limited to 100 vehicles; prices remain undisclosed so far.
To celebrate the 100th anniversary of the luxury car brand, and to commemorate the legendary racing driver Sir Henry ‘Tim’ Birkin, each vehicle will be getting an articulating display with a metallic part molded from an engine piston of the original 1929 Blower, Tim Birkin’s ride in the 24 Hour of Le Mans.
All special edition cars will have a white number ‘1’ painted on the front grille, trim elements molded from 18-carate gold, special fender shields, and sill badges.
Each Bentley Continental GT Convertible Number 1 will get an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission linked to a 6.0-liter W12 monster engine producing 635 hp (474 kW). The standard sprint (0-100 km/h or 0-62 mph) will be a matter of 3.8 seconds, and the top speed will be capped at 333 km/h (207 mph).
