Bentley is getting ready to unveil its most extreme Continental GT ever. The car has already been spied outside wearing a distinct body kit with a large trunk lid spoiler, and now insiders are reporting that it will be bringing the Supersports nameplate back.
According to these anonymous reports, the car will get neither the old W12 nor the Ultra Performance Hybrid powertrain. Instead, it will allegedly ship with a 4.0-liter turbocharged V8 rated at 650 PS (641 hp / 478 kW) or close. Doing so would enable Bentley to reinstate itself as a true luxury vehicle manufacturer who doesn’t prioritize bling over handling, speed and overall sportiness.
The current Continental GT lineup produces more than 650 metric horsepower, but the Supersports version will still stand out thanks to high-end suspension upgrades and other improvements. It will reportedly weigh around 500 kilograms (1,102 pounds) less thanks to ditching the hybrid system and switching to lightweight bodywork. Last but not least, it will allegedly drop AWD in favor of a far more driver-focused rear-wheel drive system.
Only a few hundred units will be made and offered starting from £400,000 each, the insiders claim. That’s roughly 50% more expensive than the standard Continental GT Speed. We should learn how much of this is true in late 2025, when the model is expected to debut.
