Bentley has revealed all there is to know about the upcoming next generation of its Flying Spur sedan/saloon, along with several new pics of the car. The live premiere is scheduled for June 11, 2019.
According to the official press release, the newcomer gets Bentley’s trademark adaptive suspension with adjustable shocks, all-wheel steering (for the first time in the history of the marque), and an AWD system. By default, the AWD transmission sends all of its torque to the rear axle, only engaging the front wheels when skidding.
The production vehicle comes based on the MSB platform of the current Bentley Continental GT and Porsche Panamera.
The company uses its patented ‘textured 3D’ leather for trimming the cabin of its four-door GT and fits it with high-tech equipment along with a whole range of safety features.
The next-gen Bentley Flying Spur will ship with a choice between a 6.0-liter W12 rated at 635 hp (474 kW) and 900 Nm (664 lb×ft) of torque and a 4.0-liter V8 TT with 550 hp (410 kW) at its disposal. A plug-in hybrid version will arrive later, packing the Panamera 4 E-Hybrid powertrain which produces 462 hp (345 kW) on the Porsche donor vehicle.
