Bentley has revealed a unique Flying Spur V8 decorated specifically for a “bearded customer”, and while the name wasn’t mentioned, you should know perfectly well who it is.
The Reindeer Eight Edition comes adorned by a Flying Deer hood ornament printed on a 3D printer. There are special edition plaques replacing the V8 badges on the fenders, and the body dons a Cricket Bauble livery inspired by the Cricket Ball paint. The company has 62 extended hues to offer in its Cricket Ball palette.
There are diamond patterns on the sides along with hand-painted flourishes, and the front splitter, side skirts, diffuser, spoiler and 22-inch wrapped in Pirelli P Zero All Season tires are all gilded.
The cabin makes use of Bordeaux leather with golden X-shaped stitching throughout. Grand Black wood inserts bear sketches of the North Pole, the final destination of the car. The front seats bear initials of Mr. Bearded Customer and his wife, and the navigation map contains “a full list of nice and naughty children” complete with GPS co-ordinates. A bell chime accompanies the engine when it fires up.
The company says the interior stitching alone took 18 hours, 11,000 stitches and 115 meters (377 feet) of golden thread.
The luxury saloon still comes powered by its usual V8 TT rated at 550 PS (542 hp / 404 kW) and 770 Nm (568 lb-ft) of torque. Getting from zero to 100 km/h (62 mph) is a matter of 4.1 seconds, and the top speed amounts to 318 km/h (198 mph). The W12 is only marginally faster, but the V8 is easier to steer, the company reminds.
Why did Santa pick the Flying Spur V8? Bentley says it offers the optimum balance between comfort and performance. As for the client, he is reported saying he has 66 million kilometers (41 million miles) to cover behind the steering wheel of his vehicle by the end of December…
