The modern BMW 1-Series hatchback lacks an M Performance version and is thus little different from most of the competition out there. However, if you have the funds, Manhart is willing to build a much more exciting car for you based on the M135i xDrive.
Once tuned, the engine sends 350 PS (345 hp / 257 kW) and 524 Nm (386 lb-ft) of torque to all four wheels, surpassing the stock numbers by 44 PS (43 hp / 32 kW) and 74 Nm (55 lb-ft). The company gives no details on the dynamics, but at least this makes the M135i more powerful on paper than the dreaded Volkswagen Golf R.
On the outside, the car wears a Maxton Design body kit consisting of a front splitter, side skirts, a two-part roof spoiler in the back, and a diffuser. 20-inch Manhart GTS Style fill out the arches nicely thanks to H&R suspension springs. The body is black, but the company’s trademark pale gold accents are nowhere to be seen. Instead, Manhart uses a compelling combination of red and silver this time around.
A full tune-up like this will set you back around €10,000, but you are free to order the parts individually.
