New BMW M8 Competition leaks again in spy photos

Another portion of spy shots has surfaced online, depicting the new BMW M8 Competition coupe allegedly running pre-production tests somewhere in the South African Republic.

Based on what there is to see, the new M8 sports an even more aggressive overall design compared to the current flagship, the M850i. In particular, the front bumper has larger air intakes, and an impressively large diffuser housing quad tailpipes now crowns the rear. The entire exterior décor is glossy black.

The car comes powered by a 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 – actually, the same engine as the one that currently ships with the M850i XDrive. Rated at 625 hp (466 kW) or more, it will link to the XDrive AWD system, an active diff lock, and an eight-speed M Steptronic transmission.

Another major feature announced for the upcoming M8 comes in the form of a new brake booster, which is electric rather than vacuum-based, and a new brake setting called Track Mode.
