BMW makes the Vision M Next Concept available to download and print in 3D

BMW has made a printer-ready 3D model of its Vision M Next Concept hybrid available for downloading from its website. It has also released some extra materials, such as desktop wallpapers, printable wall posters, and sound files with the genuine M Next engine soundtrack.

The all-carbon coupe with a 600-hp (447-kW) hybrid powertrain debuted a few days ago. BMW made it clear straight away that it would never hit production, but tried to sweeten the pill by making the 3D mockup available to the wide public.

The level of detail is reportedly sufficient for printing a 1:1 (i.e., life-sized) replica of the car body, but you may of course downsample it to your desired target size. The body is actually all you can print; there are no mechanisms, movable parts or interior details included in the file.

The Vision M Next Concept utilizes a hybrid powertrain with a special Boost+ mode for faster acceleration. BMW says this feature enables the car to sprint from zero to one hundred kilometers per hour (62 miles per hour) in three seconds flat. If proven viable, we will be seeing it implemented by default in the company's future products.
