British auto body shop Mulgari has unveiled a limited series of cars based on the latest two-door coupe BMW M240i, but stylized to look like the famous M vehicles from the distant past. The special edition is called ‘Icon03’ and consists of 25 examples. Rumors say the asking price amounts to £69,000.
The tuner’s goal, according to its own statement, was to create a ‘pure driving experience’ that would lead the driver into the state of euphoria. To this end, the team has remodeled the entire body of the car from scratch, devised a carbon-fiber roof with a slight recess in the middle (just like on the E46 M3 CSL), and enlarged the fender flares E30 M3-style. It then proceeded to add a front splitter and gill-like air vents on the fenders for better engine cooling.
Among other things, the Icon03 boasts various suspension and handling improvements, and comes armed with a 3.0-liter turbo-six engine (B58). The engine has been tuned to deliver up to 500 hp (373 kW) along with 590 Nm (435 lb×ft) of torque. Assisting it is an Akrapovič performance exhaust system.
Next month, Mulgari will be bringing its creation to the Nordschleife for a movie shoot.
