BMW has not even premiered its smallest Gran Coupe yet, but the car now has an official Internet page all to itself, complete with photos and some specs.
Unlike its 4-Series sibling, the upcoming BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe (F44) is not a liftback, but rather a four-door sedan/saloon. It has the characteristic slanting roof and frameless doors to show for the ‘coupe’ moniker, but that would be all.
As far as the tech is concerned, the car is similar to the 1 Series (F40) hatchback. Both share the same basic architecture and both come front-driven, with AWD available as a paid option.
The BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe will also likely inherit its entire engine range from the 1 Series, but there is no official confirmation at the moment. All we know for a fact is that the top trim version, the BMW M235i xDrive, will ship with a 2.0-liter gasoline engine rated at 306 hp (228 kW).
The international premiere will occur in November 2019, followed by sales launch in March 2020.
