If you think that tuning an older coupe such as the BMW 2002 is a wasted effort, look at what George Dalmakis managed to accomplish. The Canadian master squeezed an S55B30 inline-six into the coupe’s slim engine bay and even gave it a power-up.
We do not have the specific numbers, but this engine model is normally rated at 431 PS (425 hp / 317 kW) and 550 Nm (406 lb-ft) of torque. A Borg Warner turbocharger could push it to around 800 PS (789 hp / 588 kW), and the video makes us believe this is the case, too.
Elsewhere, the elderly BMW rocks an open hood, a lockable differential taken from an M3, a rather over-the-top body kit, 17-inch BBS wheels, air suspension, and a BMW Z8 steering mechanism. The cabin makes extensive use of orange Nappa leather and black Alcantara, while the steering wheel, the seats and the dashboard are all new.
